Local 296 has a pool of 304 journeymen and 65 apprentices at the present time, we are continuing to grow and have no plans to stop expanding.

The following is a list of some of the Certifications and Licenses that our members have acquired.

• Welding Certification, we have had over 100 test sessions certifying 152 of our members with various welding procedures.
• OSHA Construction Safety & Health Card, 135 of our members have these certifications 10 or 30 hour cards.
• American Red Cross First Aid / CPR, currently 65 members have certifications.
• Medical Gas Installer Certification, after 21 classes we have 119 members certified to install Medical Gas.
• Oregon Steam Fitters License, 78 of our members currently have Class 5.
• Idaho HVAC Licenses, 92 licensed members.
• Idaho Plumbing License, 123 licensed members.
• CFC Universal Certification, 32 certified members.
• Orbital Welding Class, using ARC welding machines 87 of our members have attended classes to become proficient on these machines.
• Leadership Class, this class is taught to show our members what has to be done as a foreman out on a jobsite, 44 of them have taken this class to help improve their supervision skills.
• Steward Class, this shows our members how to understand our contract and how to work with contractors without conflict, 30 of our members have attended.
• We give both Oregon Plumbing and Steam Fitting continuing education classes.
